Partnership Brings National Brands to Walker County
Walker County Chamber of Commerce has been fortunate to partner with Retail Strategies for many years. Through this partnership, Jasper and Walker County, Alabama have seen many national brands come to the area. As success builds upon success, national brands, such as Hobby Lobby, Home Depot, Walmart, Dunhams, Huddle House, Applebees, Tractor Supply Co, Duncan Donuts, Freddy's Steakburgers, Planet Fitness, and more have come to Walker County within the last 10 years. Walker County is growing! Starbucks and Whataburger are coming soon!
The Chamber of Commerce of Walker County has a collaborative approach to recruiting businesses to the area. City, county, and state governments work well together with businesses on recruitment. Bevill State Community College collaborates with incoming businesses and industry as well, providing specialized training for employees when needed.
The quality of life in Walker County is excellent. Residents of Walker County enjoy friendly communities and neighborhoods, places of worship, beautiful parks and recreation. Smith Lake provides family fun such as fishing and boating as well as professional fishing tournaments several times a year. Shopping and dining options have increased in the last 10 years with many stores and restaurants opening in the area.
Walker County Schools and Jasper City Schools, give students the education and opportunities they need to succeed. Bevill State Community College, with two of four campuses in Walker County, provides undergraduate courses as well as applied technology educational opportunities.
As a part of Brookwood Baptist Health, the state of the art medical facilities of Walker Baptist Medical Center serves the community with a patient-focused approach. The acute care facility is equipped with 267 beds and over 600 professionals, specializing in immediate care, preventative care, and education to help maintain maximum level of health.
